DeeDee’s musical style transcends genres, seamlessly blending gospel, blues, jazz, and Latin jazz. Her stage presence radiates with a unique energy, reflecting her genuine joy and love for her craft.

DeeDee Lavell, a native of Australia, has dedicated more than three decades to her career as a professional vocal stylist. Her extensive experience includes captivating audiences on stages worldwide, with a significant period spent in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2019. In 2019, she made a life-changing move to Oregon, USA, seeking the tranquility of clean air and a simpler lifestyle.

Throughout her musical journey, DeeDee independently released three music CDs. Notably, her third album, ‘Sounds Of Love,’ was recorded in 2014 in Philadelphia and produced by her longtime friend and Master Percussionist, Doc Gibbs (known for collaborations with Anita Baker, Grover Washington Jr, Joe Sample, David Sanborn, Al Jarreau, among others).

Her performing career commenced in Japan, where she graced stage productions and nightclubs. Afterward, she relocated to London, becoming a sought-after studio session singer, providing her expertise as an experienced harmony singer and vocal arranger for emerging artists.

Returning to Australia, DeeDee immersed herself in musical theatre, collaborating with Spud and Jennifer Murphy, the musical directors of “Priscilla, The Musical.” Later, she co-founded the Soul/Funk/Motown group, The Honeybees, performing at festivals, corporate functions, and nightclubs across Sydney and other major Australian cities.

From enchanting audiences on a 5-star dinner cruise in Sydney Harbour to late-night clubs and studio sessions, DeeDee infuses every performance with freshness and passion. Her captivating onstage presence continues to leave audiences wanting more, showcasing her enduring commitment to the art of vocal expression.
