Dee Dee Lavell, a beloved singer/songwriter and esteemed resident of Mullumbimby for many years, left an indelible mark on the world with her musical talents. As a globetrotter, she mesmerized audiences worldwide and played a pivotal role as one of the founding members of The Honeybees.
Having graced festivals and prestigious venues across Australia, Dee Dee achieved success with the release of two acclaimed albums in both Australia and the United States, where she resided for an extended period until her untimely passing in 2023.
In honor of this charismatic and dearly missed woman, renowned friends from Sydney, Northern Rivers, and Brisbane are uniting to host an evening of music dedicated to celebrating her vibrant life. The Honeybees, featuring Tina Harrod, Belle Hendrik, and Liza Ohlback, will perform some of Dee’s favorite songs, joined by a talented ensemble including Greg Ohlback, John Hill, Andy Thompson, Rod Coe, and Steve McLeod.
This exceptional lineup boasts the musical prowess of Peter Claydon and Barry Ferrier, Barry Milan, Andrew Baxter, Kellie Knight, Rebecca Ireland, Ilona Harker, Amanda Jane, Shelly Brown, Miss Amber and Stukulele, Clelia Adams, and Doug & Biskit.

The commemorative event will take place at the Courthouse Hotel in Mullumbimby at 7 pm on Saturday, 10 February. While tickets are free, contributions are appreciated to cover expenses, allowing everyone to come together and pay tribute to Dee Dee’s extraordinary legacy.
